What is the best free automatic backup software for use with my external hard drive?

This is for a novice user.

2. You can use the built-in Windows XP Backup Utility. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security/learnmore/backup.mspx OR Use the software that came with the hard drive or use Nero and select create image.
3. Didn't the external drive come with back up software?
4. There is nothing better than RSYNC, I think they make it for winblows too !
