- Hopefully you have Vista or 7 so go to control panel at "backup and restore center" You can make an exact image of the entire hard drive and in case of an accident you can recover in just few clicks.
- If you want to keep specific files (or files in specific folders) synced with your internal drive, try Karen's Replicator. http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp
- For Win XP: Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Backup. Free and already on your PC. You can schedule it to back up your essential files on a regular basis. Two tips: for Win Backup to work successfully your account MUST have log-in password. Also, make it incremental backup, that way after first full backup every time program will backup only new or changed files, which will make backup last only seconds! And in addition, if you Ghost your C-partition from time to time, in case of total disaster your recovery will last only about 1/2 hour.
- Hi, I really like your question. But you might be better off with a remote backup system. If there's a fire, flood, hurricane, whatever, your data is protected at an off site data center. I'm an IT Manager and I think the best remote backup software is Citadel Remote Backup. There are others, but I like this the best. You can go to http://www.bestremotebackup.net to see a review or go to the website at http:/www.CitadelBackup.com to find out more. Hope that helps, if not let me know. Bye!
